I've had this post typed up since Easter but it always takes forever for me to download the pictures from my camera to add to these entries and now it's been a few weeks and today Morgan is eight months old, so I guess now is just as good a time as ever to finally finish this one. :)
Morgan had a great 1st Easter. She got some Baby Legs leggings, a Taggie blanket, a stuffed lamb, and teether from mommy and daddy. From Grandma she got a couple new pretty dresses and a really cool Elmo doll that says her name. She also had her first church experience and did very well. She was fascinated with the music and they had a special performance from a few girls that did a dance and Morgan LOVED that! She got so excited kicking her feet and bouncing on daddy's lap...it was cute to watch.
I know this seems to be a running theme in my posts lately, but I can't believe how quickly Morgan is growing! She seems to change in the blink of an eye. Just last night I put Morgan in her high chair to feed her some dinner and we have this toy that attaches to the tray and usually I have to push part of it forward so she can reach it, but last night after I strapped her in she reached right out for it and had no problem touching it. I couldn't believe it. She also all the sudden seemed to be sitting up higher in the chair....I think she grew 2 inches over night!
Morgan has also become quite the snuggler. She loves to give hugs and bury her face into our chest or she will bring our hand up to her face and just push it up against her cheek...she especially loves to do this when she's tired. It's so sweet, it never fails to melt my heart. :) A lot of times when I'm holding her she will look right into my eyes and just stare at me and touch my cheek or lips, and then just rest her forehead on mine. I live for moments like this...I just love the connection we seem to make during these moments. She's also starting to get the concept of giving "kisses."
Morgan has also become A LOT more mobile. We can't seem to be able to put her down in her bouncy, swing, or even on the floor anymore without supervision. She sits great all by herself now and is also figuring out how to pull herself into a sitting position. I'd put her in her swing or bouncy seat and the next thing I see is her sitting straight up in them...not very safe. A couple nights ago I had to put Morgan down so I could get dinner out of the oven so I put her down in her bouncy and when I came back, there was Morgan sitting on her butt on the floor with the bouncy seat resting on the back of her head. She gave me the funniest look like, "Really mom, I didn't do it. I don't know how this happened." Apparently Morgan pushed herself down far in the seat and then tried to sit up and tipped the seat over her. She was perfectly fine, didn't even cry...I think she was just a little confused on how she ended up on the floor, lol. Morgan also LOVES to play on the floor! I can put her on one side of the room and in a matter of minutes she will have rolled herself all the way to the complete other side of the room. We now have to be very careful with what's on the floor and within reach of her ever wondering hands and mouth and she has also started pushing herself backwards while on her tummy.
Here are a bunch of new pictures.
