Morgan at 21 Months

I guess this is as good a time as any to update. I'm home with a sick kid that is going on her 3rd hour of napping and I just realized this was a perfect opportunity. I mean really...this doesn't happen very often!

So anyway, Morgan is as always growing up so fast. I can't believe how much she is able to absorb in that little brain of hers at this age (she's not even 2 yet!)...she is constantly amazing us! She can sing most of the alphabet (she loves to sing it to daddy on the way to Grandma's in the morning) and now she can point out some letters to us like B,O, and P. She knows her shapes and can also count to ten and will count the number of stairs as she walks up them. We went to the zoo a couple of weekends ago and we passed a double stroller and out of the blue she says, "two babies, two babies!" Anytime there is more then one of something she will usually pick up on it and say two babies, or three flags, or two bikes. Morgan notices EVERYTHING, I can't believe how observant she is, and I do believe a lot of the credit for her having all this knowledge at such a young age should go to Grandma. Grandma spends a lot of time teaching her so many great things...and we feel so blessed for it!

Morgan also loves to play "mommy" to her baby dolls and it's the cutest thing to watch. She'll lay them down and put blankets on them, feed them, and wash them. She's big into mimicking us as well, which has made me more aware of the things I say and do these days. She is also learning her manners as well. We're working on saying please and thank you...or no thank you, instead of just NOOOOO, lol! Yeah, she loves the word "No" and can say it with such conviction...so we're working on that.

We've bought a potty chair for her to have a Grandma's house. She likes it and knows what it's for, but we haven't had a chance to really work with her on it yet. I think once we get serious about it, she will as well, and then I don't think it will take long for her to get the hang of it.

All and all, Morgan is doing awesome! She is super smart, super sweet, and super funny, and we are loving every minute of it! She will be two in just a few months and I don't know where all the time has gone...but I do know that we've loved and cherished every second of it and feel so blessed for it all. We are truly blessed!

Morgan 19 Months

Where to begin...it's been a while. Let's see, Morgan had her 18 month Dr. appointment this week (she's actually almost 20 months...we're a little behind). She weighs 24 lbs (40th %) and she's shot up to 32 1/2 inches (65%). We've started introducing the "potty" to her since she now tells us when she goes. I think we're still quite a ways from getting her potty trained, but it's nice that she's showing an interest this early.
Morgan still loves to dance and sing. She will sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Barney song. She's also learned to do the Hokey Poky (thanks to the hokey poky Elmo Grandpa gave her, lol) Morgan is also very observant, she notices and points out EVERYTHING. When we drive she'll point out buses, cars, street lights, trucks, bikes, and airplanes (she gets the planes from daddy's work because they fly over all the time). She says "please," "thank you," "hi bugger," and she's got a wicked sense of humor! She's constantly making us laugh with the things she says and does. She can also count! She won't say 1, but once you do she automatically goes to 2 and 3, skips 4 most of the time, but knows that 5 comes after 4 and can go up to eight.
Morgan's sleeping habits have been 100% better these last several months. We haven't had to put her to sleep with a bottle since she was about 13 months and she's finally been sleeping through the night (without night terrors) for about as long as well. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about her eating habits. My once great eater is now super picky! She's driving us crazy trying to find things she will eat. I'm just hoping she grows out of this soon (wishful thinking I'm sure).
We're looking forward to all the things we have planned to do with her this summer. She's at the age where the Zoo, Children's Museum, and Aquarium, will be a lot of fun for her. She also got a tricycle from her Grandma that we're looking forward to teaching her to ride this summer. Needless to say Morgan is doing amazing and is becoming quite the little girl and we're loving every minute of watching her grow!

Morgan at 17 months

I can't believe it's been over 2 months since my last update....someone is slacking big time! ;) Actually, I'm finding the older Morgan gets the less and less amount of free time I have to just sit down and write in her blog. Not to mention I take a million pictures of her and that takes forever to get downloaded and edited. Anyway, there's a lot to update on. Morgan is walking, has been for a while. She has added a ton more words to her vocabulary. She still has an incredible love for music and and has also acquired a love of books. She also loves to be mom's "little helper" by helping me clean up her toys and putting laundry in the dryer for me.

Let's start with the walking. Morgan stated showing an interest in October and was walking completely independently by the end of November. I think she was a bit of a late bloomer in this department but one thing we've learned about our daughter is that she's a bit of a perfectionist, she waits until she thinks she's got it down 100% before she tries it, but she is loving this new found independence.

Morgan still talks up a storm and has become very animated with her hands when she talks now as well...her mouth is constantly moving, and so are her hands. She has also started trying to carry on a conversation with the family dog. She follows Max all over the house talking and pointing her finger in his face and Max is very good about amusing her. She loves to "read" her books. She will sit on the floor and take her finger along the words and just babble away. Of course she doesn't know how to read, but she sure thinks she can. When she's tired she'll go find a book and bring it to daddy or me and climb in our lap and we'll read for a few minutes and the next thing we know she's out like a light.

Morgan still loves music. You ask her to "bust a move" or "get down" and she'll start dancing for you. Any time music comes on the TV or in the car she'll dance. Sometimes she even hums along with the song. She started Tumble Tot's on Tuesdays with Grandma and loves it! She loves being around the other kids, rolling around on the mats, and jumping on the trampoline. They also to a music time where everyone gets an instrument and they make music, which of course she loves that too.

Morgan's personality has grown so much in these last few months. I'm amazed at how much of a little person she has become. She's become much more independent, but at the same time loves to still cuddle. She loves to give hugs and kisses and there are times where she hugs you so hard and just smashes her face in yours trying to give you a "big" kiss that it's impossible for your heart not to melt. Morgan is just a very happy go lucky child. She'll laugh at just about anything...she laughs when she has the hiccups, or when Max runs into the sliding glass door, or when mommy or daddy make a funny face at her, she even laughs at herself when she falls down. She loves to carry on a conversation with you and she gets her hands flying and the expressions that come over her face can make you fall over laughing. Watching the way she is now makes me very excited to see the kind of person she'll grow to be. And the journey of watching her grow, I think is going to be amazing.

I have a ton of pictures that I want to share so continue down....and fair warning....there are a TON!! This is what happens when mom takes off two months from updating this. :) It might be best to look at the pictures from the bottom up....they're kind of out of order if you start here and go down. Enjoy!
